FAQ

Q: How long have you been photographing weddings?

A: I photographed my first wedding in 2012 and haven't looked back! I have also had recent publications on Cwtch the Bride, Rock n Roll Bride and Marry Me Ink blogs. 

 

Q: How do I book?

A: It's easy! Just give me a message to arrange a meeting. During this meeting I will show you examples of my packaging, show your prints of my work and let you look through full weddings to show you what I offer. 

A deposit is required to secure a booking and a booking form needs completing. 

 

Q: What is your style?

A: I am 90% unposed and 10% posed. I like to capture the day as it happens with very little interuptions from myself. 

 

Q: When do I have to pay?

A: The full amount is payable 4 weeks before the wedding date.

Q: Why is wedding photography "expensive"?

A: Your wedding photos are the main thing you will take away from your wedding. Your cake will be eaten, your outfits will be put away, the honeymoon will end but your photos are what you'll take away and keep and help you remember the day. They are an investment. 

What costs: the expensive equipment, my skills and knowledge, my travel, my time for the day and the time I put into editing and putting together the final product, my insurance, and my unique style. 

 

Q: How many pictures will I get?

A: This obviously depends on what coverage you go for. For the half day package you get around 400+ and for a full day 500-700+ pictures. I can never guarentee an exact number as every wedding is different. Try not to focus on how many but think of it rather as quality rather than quantity. 

 

Q: What do I get?

A: You will get digital images (high res) on a USB stick. These will be edited slightly  BUT not heavily "photoshopped". You will also get a box containing polaroid style prints. 

 

Q: How long will it take to get my photos?

A: I'm usually pretty quick so you'll usually get them in two weeks but they can take a bit longer sometimes. The longest you'll wait if it's a busy time is 4-12 weeks. 

 

Q: Can I give you a shot list?

A: About 6 weeks before your wedding I will send out a form for you to complete with final details of the day. This will also include space for you to write your formal group choices on. I highly recommend keeping these short and sweet and sticking to a maximum of 7 or 8. 

There is also room on the form to give me extra information. Here you can write specific locations in your venue you would like pictures taken. I will try to cover these locations but this is not always possible due to lighting etc. 

I do not take pinterest shot lists or mimic other photographers work. I like to capture a wedding as it happens and let you enjoy your day!

Q: Why do you only do a limited number of formal group shots?

A: Why waste your wedding day waiting around posing in a line? Anyone can take those sort of pictures. These also take much longer than you think. I take multiple pictures of your guests enjoying themselves throughout the day so don't worry! I have an absolute maximum of 10 formal groups but suggest you stick to 5 or 6 at the very most! 

 

Q: Do we need to feed you?

A: There is absolutely no obligation to feed me! I am a vegan so I usually bring my own food. The venue also will usually set me up in the bar area while you eat. Just make sure someone calls me back in when you start your speeches. 

 

Q: Do you travel?

A: Yes I do! I travel all of South Wales for free but travel fees and occasionally overnight accommodation will be added for locations out of this area. 

I can also travel abroad. Flights and accommodation will need to be provided. 

Q: Do you do albums?

A: Yes I do! They come in a variety of styles and sizes with different choices in cover styles and colours. You can pick your images and I design your layout. A proof is then sent to you so changes can be made if you want. They are all £poa. I always suggest waiting until you get your images before picking an album. 

 

Q: Do you do engagement shoots? Do you recomend one?

A: Yes I do! I would recomend one if you are particuarly shy infront of the camera or feel this is something you'd like. 

 

Q: Do you use a second shooter? 

A: Not at the moment. I do everything solo! However, if you feel  you would benefit from a second photographer, let me know and I can use one of my many photographer friends. This will usually set you back between £150-250. 

 

Q: What equipment do you use? 

A: I use two camera bodies: 2x canon 5d mark iii. I use several lenses and flash guns. 

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes I am! If you have any specific questions regarding this, just ask.
